WDM & Next Generation Optical Networking Forum 2013
SHENZHEN, China--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices has received the award for ‘Best Optical Product – 100G’ at the 15th Annual WDM & Next Generation Optical Networking Forum, held in Monaco.
The award was presented to ZTE in acknowledgement of the capabilities of its 100G Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing/Optical Transport Network (DWDM/OTN) solutions ZXONE 8000 and ZXWM M920. It follows a number of honours recently bestowed on ZTE for its OTN products including: the Infovision Award from Broadband World Forum and the Innovation Award from GTB (Global Telecom Business).
Combining Polarization-Multiplexed Quadrature Phase-Shift-Keying (PM-QPSK) technology together with the industry-leading Soft Decision Forward Error Correction (SD-FEC) technology, the ZTE 100G solution substantially improves 100G transmission distance and quality, which can better facilitate network planning and deployment.
ZTE 100G products support 80x100G super-large-capacity transmission, fully satisfying operators’ ever-increasing bandwidth requirements. The modular upgrade mode ensures low investment at the early stage of network construction and smooth capacity expansion at the later stage to ease the cost pressure. At the same time, combined with intelligent large-capacity service scheduling platform, ZTE 100G products fully support various OTN scheduling granularities so they can address the access requirements of various services.
The multi-degree service scheduling, protection and intelligent restoration functions help improve network flexibility and security, and reduce operators’ operations, administration and maintenance (OAM) costs. ZTE has completed many trial network projects related to 100G with mainstream operators from Western Europe, Eastern Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific and China and has put 100G in commercial operation for a number of operators.
“ZTE is delighted to receive this award. We have made a number of significant technological breakthroughs in 100G and beyond including the ultra-long-haul transmission of 400Gb/s signals for more than 5000km which furthers the development of optical telecommunication industry,” said Mr. Xu Ming, General Manager of ZTE Bearer Network Product Line. “While winning the acknowledgement of the industry, we will continue to provide most competitive products and services for global customers.”
According to the latest market analysis report ‘Market share-1Q13 Global ON’ released by Ovum, ZTE displaced Alcatel-Lucent to take second position in the optical network market. ZTE also ranks No.1 globally in aggregation market, and No. 2 in CPO-T (Converged Packet Optical Transport) market. ZTE has rich accumulation in 100G technology. The company has successfully deployed over 30 100G trial networks and commercial networks around the world.
